    Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Supervisor – International Rescue Committee

    Responsibilities:
    i. Provide and supervise PSS officers in delivering individual and group therapy to community members in order to respond to their mental wellbeing needs.
    ii. Organize and facilitate activities that raise awareness about mental health and psychosocial wellness and reduce stigma/maltreatment against people with mental health concerns.
    iii. Identify existing community mechanisms in a safe and dignified manner to resolve psychological maladjustments and provide effective mechanisms to enhance their capacity to provide support.
    iv. Identify needs and empower individuals to develop useful coping strategies.
    v.
    Provide mobile psychoeducation activities in the community and psychosocial support to the cases that cannot access the services due to enclosed environment.
    vi. Participate in the design and development of project proposals, budgets, donor reports, workplans and management of grant lines in MHPSS activities.
    vii. Ensure timely submission all program reports from the PSS officers in the camp, quality of program data and proper archival of program information including safe custody of case files and referral of cases/information
    viii. Organise and facilitate Mental Health Case Discussion & Coordination Meetings and conduct capacity building sessions to service providers and appropriate referral mechanisms
    ix. Monitor Case Management & prepare detailed work plan for MHPSS officers
    x. Develop and manage PSS activities and attend camp level meetings as necessary
    xi.
    Develop and submit monthly cash projections and spending plans for PSS activities and ensure efficient use of program resources in accordance with financial policies and procedures
    xii. Ensuring activity procurement needs are procured on time and logistics policies and procurement procedures are met
    xiii. Prepare staff duty roster and monitor staff adherence to program objectives.
    xiv. Responsible for welfare and discipline of refugee incentive staff in coordination with HR.
    xv. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including community leaders, and other implementing partners to advocate for the needs of emotionally distressed persons and work with partners to enhance multi-sectoral cooperation and coordination
    xvi. Provide ongoing supervision, leadership, training and technical support and guidance to staff to ensure holistic delivery of PSS services
    xvii. Participate in identifying of staff training needs and systematically build their capacity of the community workers

    Requirements
    i. Bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology/clinical psychology/ Mental health (nurse Psychiatrist) or other related field
    ii. Minimum 3 years Working experience with persons with emotional distress, intellectually challenged or with mental disorders
    iii. Ability to lead and organize a team
    iv. Fluency in spoken and written English and Swahili. French and Kirundi will be a plus
    v. Ability to work under pressure and in remote areas
    vi. Flexibility to reallocate across camps whenever necessary
