Information Systems - Support Contractual- Defined Term Contractual (DTC)

TERMS OF REFERENCE

Background

Established in 1959, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. It provides loans, grants, guarantees, policy advice and technical assistance to the public and private sectors of its borrowing member countries

The Information Technology and Audiovisual Services Section (SEC/ITA) of the Office of the Secretary provides support to the organization of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC). This includes maintenance, support of existing systems and new development. SEC/ITA also maintains the systems used by the Governors of the IDB and IIC to access documents and to vote.

Consultancy objective

Provide support to SEC/ITA in the maintenance of the existing systems, the development of the new ones and the migration of data.

Main activities

The selected candidate will:

• Develop modules for the new SEC website and Governors extranet system.
• Provide maintenance and support to existing SEC systems, including those used for the Annual Meeting (Participants, Hotel, Logistics and Events)
• Participate in the execution of the Capital Project CP-I0337.
• Provide maintenance and support to the SEC/ATI extranet page and the PIC request form.

Qualifications

• Academic Degree/ Level & Years of Professional Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience.
• Languages: Spanish and English
• Areas of Expertise: ASP.NET, C#, javascript, JQUERY, Ajax, Sharepoint

Characteristics of the Consultancy

• Consultancy category and modality: Defined Term Contractual, Monthly.
• Contract duration: From 19 to 24 months.
• Place(s) of work: IADB,Headquarters, Washington DC, United States of America.
• Responsible person: Chief SEC/ITA.

Payment and Conditions: Compensation will be determined in accordance with Bank's policies and procedures. The Bank, pursuant to applicable policies, may contribute toward travel and moving expenses. In addition, candidates must be citizens of an IDB member country.

Visa and Work Permit: The Bank, pursuant to applicable policies, may submit a visa request to the applicable immigration authorities; however, the granting of the visa is at the discretion of the immigration authorities. Notwithstanding, it is the responsibility of the candidate to obtain the necessary visa or work permits required by the authorities of the country(ies) in which the services will be rendered to the Bank. If a candidate cannot obtain a visa or work permit to render services to the Bank the contractual offer will be rescinded

Consanguinity: Pursuant to applicable Bank policy, candidates with relatives (including the fourth degree of consanguinity and the second degree of affinity, including spouse) working for the Bank as staff members or Complementary Workforce contractuals, will not be eligible to provide services for the Bank.
