Finance Contractual - Defined Term Contractual (DTC)
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Background
Established
in 1959, the Inter-American Development Bank ("IDB" or "Bank") is the
main source of financing for economic, social and institutional
development in Latin America and the Caribbean. It provides loans,
grants, guarantees, policy advice and technical assistance to the public
and private sectors of its borrowing countries.
The
Financial Policy, Planning and Decision Support Unit (FPD) is seeking a
Defined Term Contractual to support its staff in the preparation of the
key planning documents produced by the Unit, including the 2017/2018 Long Term Financial Projections (LTFP)
Preview and Final documents. In addition, the contractual will be
responsible for helping build tools for the dissemination of financial
information within the Bank.
Consultancy objectives
Support FPD staff in the preparation of the 2017/2018 LTFP Preview and Final documents.
Provide support to the Unit in data collection and financial policy evaluation of other Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs)
Develop tools for the dissemination of financial information within the Bank.
Main activities
2017 OC Long-Term Financial Projections
- Provide support in the gathering of the data inputs for the 2017 Final LTFP document, the 2018 Preview and Final LTFP documents.
- Help prepare PowerPoint Presentations for Board presentations, as needed.
- Develop tools for the dissemination of financial information within the Bank.
Comparative analysis of other MDBs
- Help obtain data to support the study and track of the policy changes being carried out at other MDBs, primarily IBRD, AsDB, AfDB, and CAF.
- Provide support for the development of Business Intelligence tools to evaluate decisions made at other MDBs
Other administrative tasks on an as-needed basis.
- Academic Degree/Level & Years of Professional Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or any quantitative science. CFA candidate highly desirable. Minimum of 3 years of experience relevant to the duties and accountabilities of the position.
- Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Areas of Expertise: Finance, general economics, mathematics, financial modeling
- Skills: Financial modeling and accounting.

Payment and Conditions: Compensation
will be determined in accordance with Bank's policies and procedures.
The Bank, pursuant to applicable policies, may contribute toward travel
and moving expenses. In addition, candidates must be citizens of an IDB
member country.
Visa and Work Permit: The
Bank, pursuant to applicable policies, may submit a visa request to the
applicable immigration authorities; however, the granting of the visa
is at the discretion of the immigration authorities. Notwithstanding, it
is the responsibility of the candidate to obtain the necessary visa or
work permits required by the authorities of the country(ies) in which
the services will be rendered to the Bank. If a candidate cannot obtain a
visa or work permit to render services to the Bank the contractual
offer will be rescinded
Consanguinity:
Pursuant to applicable Bank policy, candidates with relatives
(including the fourth degree of consanguinity and the second degree of
affinity, including spouse) working for the Bank as staff members or
Complementary Workforce contractuals, will not be eligible to provide
services for the Bank.
