The
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial,
neutral and independent organization with the exclusively humanitarian
mission to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal
violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavors to
prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International
Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles.
The ICRC’s Regional Delegation in Nairobi co-ordinates the institution’s humanitarian activities in Kenya, Tanzania and Djibouti. It also runs regional specialist units that provide support and expertise to the ICRC’s delegations in East Africa, the Great Lakes region and the Horn of Africa.

The Information Analyst identifies,
collects, analyses and shares open source information to stakeholders
to better understand the environment. She/He is the reference person for
field staff involved in environmental scanning activities.
FUNCTION DESCRIPTION:
- Monitoring wide range of publicly available sources;
- Analyse of information;
- Timely and accurate dispatch of information;
- Monitors movement visibility in the media;
- Analyses crisis situation;
- Provides regular and ad-hoc reports;
- Trains and coaches support staff;
- Supports in decision making;
- Contributes to the thematic analysis at region level.
REQUIREMENTS:
• University degree or postgraduate studies in Communication, Information science, international relations or equivalent in a relevant field;
• Fluent spoken and written English and/or French;
• Excellent computer knowledge, social media user;
• 2 to 3 years professional experience with information research and analysis;
• Confirmed capacity to analyze political and social environment;
• Experience with ICRC or another humanitarian organization an asset.
