    MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR III
    Acacia Mining seeks to employ a Mobile Equipment Operator III based at Buzwagi Mine in Tanzania. This role reports to the First Line Leader – Asset Reliability Construction and the role holder will be accountable to contribute to business improvement to enhance mine operation in accordance with Acacia OHS & E policies and procedures.
    This is a permanent role, with the work roster being fourteen (14) days on and seven (7) days off.
    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • To ensure Zero Fatality, Zero LTI and Zero MTI in Section in 2016 by reporting and investigating all incidents according to procedure and on time; assist with any accident investigation when required; select and use required personal protective equipment (PPE), conforming to Occupational Health & Safety standards.
    • To contribute actively, think critically, collaborate and support peers as well as complete tasks on time and to standard.
    • To ensure daily reports are completed according to site schedule and in a timely manner.
    • To report and rectify within limits of own role any problems, faults and malfunctions identified when carrying out tasks in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures.
    • To work systematically with required attention to detail without injury to self or others, or damage to goods or equipment.
    • To operate and adapt to different equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
    • To monitor condition and performance of earthworks equipment and/or tools.
    • To operate of earthworks equipment by following standard operating procedures.
    • To liaise with Outside Services First Line Leader to discuss day to day work plans as well as improvements.
    • To ensure all earthworks equipment under Outside Services Section are clean, serviced and maintained as required.
    • Follow Equipment’s service schedules and ensure that services are done on time.
    • To ensure that all Earthworks equipment are in working order and report any faults to the Maintenance Department.
    • To carry out equipment pre-start checks accordingly before using any earthworks equipment.
    • To perform any other task assigned by the First Line Leader within the scope of the job.
    ROLE REQUIREMENTS
    Qualification Requirements:
    • Secondary School Education.
    • Equipment Operating Certificates.
    Experience Requirements:
    • 5 years previous experience in operating of earthwork equipment.
    Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
    • Knowledge of equipment operating procedures and policies for operating equipment in the workplace.
    • Knowledge of risks when operating equipment and related precautions to control them.
    • Knowledge of servicing procedures for Earthwork equipment’s.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to manage time wisely, schedule and plan work effectively.
    • Ability to adapt to change in methods of work.
    • Able to instill a sense of urgency whilst also working with the team.
    • Using interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues.

    Description
    GEOLOGIST (2 VACANCIES)
    Acacia Mining seeks to employ two (2) Geologists based at North Mara Mine. These roles report to the First Line Leader Geology and the role holders will be accountable to implement drilling programs, manage field logistics, collect geological data, and evaluate drilling results on daily basis in a safe and cost effective manner. In addition, the incumbents will evaluate sections maps and plans for the drilling program and assist the Project Manager as required.
    These are six (6) month’s fixed term contract roles, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.
    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • Assist in designing and implementing drilling programs.
    • Carry out geological and structural logging, sampling, geological measurements, sample processing, dispatch and storage of drilling samples.
    • Evaluate drilling results and historical data and make conclusion and recommendation for each drilling project and program.
    • Reduction of the drilling cost by managing the drilling program, storage, distribution and use of drilling supplies and equipment.
    • Assist on a daily basis with supervision of the drilling program, including geological and structural logging, mapping, geochemical, sampling and drilling core orientation surveys.
    • Assist with and participate in training programs for the development of all Geologists, Geological Technicians and Assistants.
    • Ensure site inspection has taken place with field technicians and contractors prior to any activity, highlighting potential hazards and minimum PPE requirements for each work program.
    • Develop targets for surface drilling assessment.
    • Undertake logging, sectional interpretation, data entry, and wireframing into 3D models.
    • Coordinate and supervise Geological Technicians and Assistants responsible for sample collection, dispatch, core orientation and other field tasks.
    • Ensure samples are taken / prepared to the highest standard prior to dispatch for analysis.
    • Ensure appropriate sample and assay quality control measures are in place, adhered to, monitored and reported on.
    • Manage project logistics.
    • Undertake structural, lithological, geotechnical and assay correlations to enhance the understanding of mineralized prospects.
    • Participate in the conversion of structural, lithological and geotechnical data into 3D solid model format that can be incorporated into resource block models.
    • Participate in geostatistical evaluation of orebodies as part of the resource estimation process.
    • Participate in the completion of accurate and timely 3D resource block models, estimates and reports.
    • Assist with production tasks as required.
    • To contribute to the business outcomes by ensuring the timely delivery of accurate geological data, knowledge, reports and documents.
    • Ensure that all accidents/incidents are reported and investigated according to procedure and on time.
    • Commitment to identification, notification and/or rectification of all unsafe acts, situations and hazards within the workplace.
    ROLE REQUIREMENTS
    Qualification Requirements:
    • Degree in Geology
    Experience Requirements:
    • 3-5 years’ experience in mine and exploration geology, 1 years’ experience in an operational leadership role.
    • Experience in managing exploration drilling programs.
    Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
    • Knowledge in data entry software, ArcGIS software etc.

    Description
    GEOLOGICAL ASSISTANT (3 VACANCIES)
    Acacia Mining seeks to employ three Geological Assistants based at North Mara Mine. These roles report to the First Line Leader Geology and the role holders will be accountable to assist with daily field logistics of the drilling program, sampling, geological measurements, core cutting and processing, dispatch and storage of the drilling samples in a safe and cost effective manner.
    This is a three (3) month fixed term contract role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.
    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
    • Assist with daily field drilling logistics, ensuring a reduction of the drilling cost by managing the storage, distribution and use of drilling supplies and equipment.
    • Carry out sampling, geological measurements, sample processing, dispatch and storage of drilling samples.
    • Maintain sampling at a high standard (quality, dispatch and reconciliation) and operate field equipment on an ongoing basis.
    • Maintain a high standard of record keeping of activities.
    • Ensuring the drill samples are collected in accordance with the SOP including recording of all required information and routine quality assurance and quality control practices.
    • Facilitate the timely picking-up of drilling samples from the pits and subsequent dispatch to the laboratory.
    • Sort, store and retrieve pulp and coarse rejects samples.
    • Report oil and diesel spills and leaking equipment.
    • Ensure an appropriate and sufficient stock of drilling program and safety consumables is available at all times.
    • Maintain equipment, vehicles and facilities.
    • Assist with and participate in training programs for the development of all Geological Technicians and Assistants.

    Hauling Equipment Operator II-078410
    Description
    HAULING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II (5 POSITIONS)
    Acacia Mining seeks to employ five (5) Hauling Equipment Operators II based at Buzwagi Mine in Tanzania. These roles report to the Load and Haul First Line Leader and the role holders will be accountable to deliver quality operation of hauling equipment and meet production targets with zero injury as per the Acacia Buzwagi Health and Safety standards.
    This is a fixed term contract role, with the work roster being seven (7) days day shift, seven (7) days night shift and seven (7) days off (7/7/7).
    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • Ensure that safety standards, FLRA, and Safe Working Procedures are adhered to in full in order to achieve Zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) Frequency Rate.
    • Conduct a comprehensive pre-start check/inspection for any Mining Equipment prior to using it to ensure that it is safe to use and reporting any defect discovered during pre-inspection.
    • Work with the Mine Dispatcher to ensure that load and haul equipment is utilized in an optimum manner. Provide timely acknowledgement of dispatch assignments and achieve designed loads per hour.
    • Perform dump truck operation according to the production plan.
    • Ensure good care and optimal utilization of GET (bucket, teeth, cutting edge, blade etc.).
    • Ensure good floor, levels and grading control for Dump Truck, Excavator, Dozer and Grader Operators.
    • Report breakdowns, equipment damage, safety near misses, incidents and accidents according to the laid out procedures including completing the Shift Report at the end of each shift.
    • Attend all Pre-shift information (PSI) meetings.
    • To be pro-active in all aspects of operational safety, efficient utilization of the resources, business improvement initiatives and encourage teamwork across the departments.
    • Ensure efficient utilization of resources including fuel, tires, fire extinguishers etc.
    • Ensure no abuse of equipment.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned to fulfill the overall business objective.
    ROLE REQUIREMENTS
    Qualification Requirements:
    • Certificate of Secondary Education.
    • Certificate of competence on Dump Truck Operations.
    • Clear and effective skills in written and spoken English.
    • Valid Tanzanian driving license.
    Experience Requirements:
    • Must have minimum 2 years on Heavy equipment operating experience on Dump Truck.
    • Experience in operating one or all of the following equipment will be an added advantage: Excavator, Dozer, Wheel Loader or Grader.
    • Mining experience will be an added advantage.
    Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
    • Ability to operate one or all of the following equipment: Excavator, Dozer, Wheel Loader or Grader in a safe manner.
