WAMATA
(Walio Katika Mapambano na AIDS Tanzania) is a Swahili acronym
referring to those in struggle against HIV&AIDS in Tanzania. WAMATA
was formed in 1989 and being registered in the year 1990 March 21st.
WAMATA was the first organization in interventions against HIV &
AIDS in the country. The main purpose of the organization is to empower
the communities to prevent the spread of HIV & AIDS and mitigate its
impact in the community through information sharing and support of
those who are infected and affected.

DSM Branch Pamoja Tuwalee is looking for an OVC- Data Clerk one post
who will be full responsible for operations of all MVC activities for
WAMATA Pamoja Tuwalee program in Temeke District, Dar es Salaam.
WAMATA DAR ES SALAAM PAMOJA TUWALEE PROGRAM
Position:Most Vulnerable Children – Data Clerk
Reports to:Project Coordinator

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DATA CLERK
Data
clerk will be fully responsible for data entry, analysis and generating
information for use, in collaboration with the OVC technical officers
and the Program Coordinator. She/ He will also be responsible for
providing technical assistance to the District Social Welfare Office in
using the national OVC Data Management System (DMS) for program
monitoring.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
In
collaboration with the other program staff, ensure that all data
collected from community volunteers is entered in a system, complete and
reported on time.
Enters
data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information for all the sites
and districts in which the program is being implemented
Able to meet all the set deadlines for data submission to other levels and capable to respond promptly on any urgent data reques
Maintain program database of enrolled OVC, their households and the services they receive.
Conduct regular update of the program database as required
Assist
the District Social Welfare Office in establishing the National OVC DMS
and conduct periodic data entry to update this database.
In
collaboration with the OVC data specialist from FHI, provide technical
assistance to the District Social Welfare Office in analyzing data,
generating information for use in improving service provision to Most
Vulnerable Children (MVC)
Assist the program in generating periodic data and narrative reports in accordance with the donor requirement
Facilitate
accuracy and complete collection of data through providing regular
feedback to other program staff on the quality of data being collected.
Conduct
regular internal data check and periodic data quality assessments to
assess and improve the quality of data generated to better monitor the
program, by reviewing data deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by
using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team
leader for resolution.
Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
Verifies
entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data;
combining data and purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
Secures information by completing data base backups and confidentiality.
Arranging and filling all the case management files for all the MVCs per households
Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR DATA CLERK
The
following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a
combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or
on-the-job training:
1. Certificate / Diploma in Secretarial, social work, community development, teaching or counselling
2. Experience of working with children at the local level at least for 3 years
3. Interest and ability of working with stressed children
4. Conversant in both Spoken and written Swahili and English languages.
5. Understanding of MVC issues and report writing
6. Computers skills and typing speed especially the use of MS office eg. Excel, Word,
Power Point and Ms ACCESS
7. Skills on data quality assessment, data analysis and data use
8. Ability to email or receive(download) files through the Internet

DSM Branch Pamoja Tuwalee is looking for an MVC focal person one post
who will be full responsible for operations of all MVC activities for
WAMATA in Ilala Municipal council including; planning, designing,
implementation, documentation, providing supportive supervision to
volunteers and networking with the DSWO and other key stakeholders
working with children in the District. S/he should be the key technical
advisor of the Project Coordinator on all issues pertaining Program
implementation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MVC FOCAL PERSON
1.
Provide guidance for the overall MVC care and support activities.
Responsible for coordinating the design, implementation, monitoring and
evaluation MVC activities as well as ensuring that all recommendations
related to MVC activities resulting from
2.
Ensure that National standards, policies and guidelines on MVC care and
support are implemented and understood by all volunteers through
meetings, trainings and supportive supervision
3.
Collaborate and network with District government departments of Social
Welfare, Health, DACC’s office and others in such a way that PAMOJA
TUWALEE plans are incorporated into the District plans.
4.
In collaboration with the Project Coordinator and other staff,
establish effective networks and partnerships with other institutions
and organizations within the District with interventions that complement
and enhance MVC activities.
5.
Document all lessons learned during the implementation of MVC
activities in PAMOJA TUWALEE program and share them with the Project
Coordinator for further reporting to PAMOJA TUWALEE Regional
office/PAMOJA TUWALEE Head Quarters
6. Provide supportive supervision and mentoring to the volunteers during the implementation of planned MVC activities
7. Perform any other task assigned to you within the context of the evolving needs of PAMOJA TUWALEE Program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The
following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a
combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or
on-the-job training:
1. Diploma in social work, community development, teaching or counselling
2. Experience of working with children at the local level at least for 2 years
3. Interest and ability of working with stressed children
4. Spoken and written English, Kiswahili is most
5. Bachelor degree in a relevant field will be added advantage
6. Understanding of MVC issues and report writing
7. Computers skills and typing speed
