EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO LEAD OUR PROCUREMENT OPERATIONS ACROSS EAST AFRICA
TradeMark
East Africa (TMEA) is funded by a range of development agencies with
the aim of growing prosperity in East Africa through trade. We believe
that enhanced trade contributes to economic growth, a reduction in
poverty and subsequently increased prosperity. The first phase of TMEA
runs to mid-2017 and we expect this to be followed by a second phase
from 2017 to 2024.
TMEA has its headquarters in Nairobi with branches in Arusha, Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Juba, Kampala and Kigali.
We
are looking for an exceptional procurement professional to lead our
procurement, grant, and financial aid operations across TMEA (which
together account for annual expenditure of around $100 million).
The
Procurement Director will manage procurement effectively and
efficiently to ensure that TMEA obtains good value for money, minimises
the risk of bribery and corruption, and has robust and transparent
procedures which are in line with international best practice. S/he will
be responsible for ensuring procurement efficiency and delivery and
that systems are streamlined and support swift programme delivery. The
post requires highly-developed and effective interpersonal and client
liaison skills to ensure that TMEA’s teams, partners, bidders and
suppliers are satisfied with the quality of service.
The
ideal candidate will be a graduate and a member of the Chartered
Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) or of a similar recognised
procurement professional institution. S/he must possess a minimum of
ten years’ experience in a busy (and preferably development-oriented)
work environment, at least five of which must be in a senior level
procurement role.
