    You will be part of the Analytical Domain Applications Division in the Directorate General Information Systems (DG/IS). We are a team of over 40 IT professionals responsible for managing and supporting applications for the business areas responsible for statistics and for banking supervision functions. You will be involved in the further development of data-centric systems for the benefit of our users and will work closely with counterparts in ECB Banking Supervision and in the Statistics, Economics, Research and Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability Directorates General.     As an IT Project Technical Coordinator you will:
    • be responsible for coordinating technical tasks for activities and large projects within the European System of Central Banks and/or within the ECB;
    • liaise with staff in the Infrastructure and Network Operations Division and the Security and Enterprise Architecture Division of DG/IS to coordinate activities with the technical experts of vendors in order to develop and deploy technical solutions;
    • help to ensure that solutions are properly designed and delivered in accordance with the scope, strategy and level of quality set out in the acceptance criteria.

    The formal job title for the advertised position will be IT Expert. The recruitment process for this position may include a Skype interview and a remote written test.
    Essential:
    • a master's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or another related field, or a bachelor's degree in one of those fields combined with at least four years' experience in information systems projects;
    • three years of professional experience in developing data warehouse and/or business intelligence solutions;
    • sound knowledge and experience of systems architecture, design, development and integration;
    • a good understanding of IT project management methodologies and IT project execution processes;
    • experience in drafting and presenting technical proposals;
    • an advanced command of English and an intermediate command of at least one other official language of the EU.
    Desired:
    • knowledge of the Hadoop stack;
    • programming experience;
    • knowledge of relational database systems, preferably Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Exadata and SQL;
    • experience with service management procedures and standards (e.g. ITIL and ISO20000).;

    This vacancy is specifically for members of staff of ESCB institutions and international organisations who are not already working at the ECB on a fixed-term or permanent contract, in order to foster collaboration within the ESCB and other international organisation. An applicant's current employer should be: (i) the national central bank of an EU Member State; or (ii) a European or international institution (e. g. the BIS, EBRD or IMF). Selected candidates are seconded to the ECB by their current employer and must have a contract of employment with their current institution ending at least one year after the end of the proposed period of employment at the ECB.
