    Web Application Developer, Vienna

    Assignment
    Under the direct supervision of the Head, UNIX/LINUX Support Unit, Network and Systems Support Section, International Monitoring Systems Division, the incumbent will carry out the following duties
    • Design, implement and maintain Web-based applications for business use;
    • Assist in the installation, support and maintenance of web applications in the area of collaboration, video streaming and general information management;
    • Maintain and enhance existing web application as required;
    • Develop and test custom application/scripts and database structure;
    • Support planning acquisition and customization of software applications supporting the implementation of the framework for the electronic information and knowledge management system;
    • Support and maintain the implementation of the applications for specific usages, integrated with the ECM (e.g. Outreach Calendar, ISHTAR) - Assist in user problems related with the ECM, the electronic document archive, and various web-sites of the PTS;
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    1. Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. A first-level university degree in Computer Science in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree;
    2. At least five years relevant working experience including two years relevant and progressive work experience in designing and implementing information management and electronic document management systems (EDMS);
    3. Good experience in Alfresco and other content management systems is essential;
    4. Good knowledge of modern multimedia management and distribution systems is an asset;
    5. Good experience developing enterprise level Java, Java Script, C/C++ covering the complete life-cycle from gathering user requirements to solution delivering and support is essential;
    6. Excellent command of written and spoken English is required. Working knowledge of another UN official language and German is desirable.
