SUPPLY INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF TRANSFORMERS AT VARIOUS SUBSTATION
Invitation for Tenders
Date: June, 2016
1. This Invitation for Tenders follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project which appeared in Daily News dated 1st February, 2016.
2. The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) has set aside funds for its operations during financial year 2016 and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this funds to cover eligible payments under the contract for which this invitation is issued.
3. TANESCO now invites sealed tenders from eligible Suppliers to supply, install and commissioning of transformers at various substation.
4. The Scope of work involves the following three (3) lots and bidders are free to quote more than one lot however evaluation and award will be per lot, but winner for lot No. 1 will not be awarded another lot:-

 Lot 1: Supply, Installation and Commissioning of 300MVA, 220/132/33 kV transformer at Ubungo Substation.
 Lot 2: Supply, installation and commissioning of 15MVA, 66/33/11kV Transformer at Sumbawanga Substation in Rukwa Region.
 Lot 3: Supply, installation and Commissioning of 35MVA, 220/33/11kV Transformer and associated switchgears at Mufindi Substation.

5. Tendering will be conducted through International Competitive bidding procedures specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, 2013 – Government Notice No. 446 and is open to all Tenderers as defined in the Regulations.
6. Interested eligible Tenders may obtain further information from and inspect the Tendering Documents at the office of the Secretary of the Tender Board TANESCO Head office, Umeme Park Building, Ubungo, along Morogoro Road, P.O. Box 9024 Dar es Salaam. Telephone/fax (255) 22 2451145/2451160/2452172 from 09:00hrs to 16.30hrs on Mondays to Fridays inclusive with an exception of public holidays.
7. A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English and additional sets may be purchased by interested Tenderers on the submission of a written application to the address given under paragraph 6 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of TZS 100, 000.00 or its equivalent freely convertable currency. Payment should either be by Cash, Banker’s Draft, or Banker’s Cheque, payable to TANESCO LTD.
8. All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender Security in an acceptable form or freely convertible currencies in case of foreign Tenderers as follows:-
Lot No. 1 Bid security amount should be TZS: 10,000,000
Lot No. 2 Bid security amount should be TZS: 7,500,000
Lot No. 3 Bid security amount should be TZS: 7,500,000

9. All tenders in one original plus three (3) copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes marked ‘TENDER No. PA/001/2016/HQ/W/30 FOR SUPPLY,

INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF TRANSFORMERS AT VARIOUS SUBSTATIONS’ NOT TO BE OPENED BEFORE 10:30 hours on Friday 15th July 2016,

should be addressed to the SECRETARY, TANESCO TENDER BOARD P.O. BOX 9024, DAR ES SALAAM TANZANIA to reach him at room No. G 15 not later than 15th July, 2016 at or before 10.30hrs local time. Tenders will be opened thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the Twiga Board Room located at Ground floor, TANESCO Head Offices, Umeme Park Building, Morogoro Road – Ubungo.
10. Late Tenders, Portion of Tenders, Electronic Tenders, Tenders not received, Tenders not opened and not read out in public at the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
